Why Dental Bridges?

If you are missing teeth, not only can it affect your appearance, they can also affect your health in a big way. Gaps created by missing teeth can cause your remaining teeth to shift and rotate into the empty spaces. This movement can cause bad bites or temporomandibular disorder (TMD). If you’re missing one or more teeth, a dental bridge may be a good option for you. Dental bridges can improve your appearance, keep you bite intact and help protect your underlying bone structure.

Dental bridges create a bridge of teeth across the gaps where the teeth are missing. There are several types of bridges available including traditional, cantilever, and Maryland bonded. Your doctor will evaluate your options and help you decide the best one for you.

What are the Benefits of Dental Bridges?

Restore Your Smile | Bridges are a great way of filling in the gaps in your smile so it can look as good as, if not better than, before.
Chew and Speak Freely | Because bridges are secured, you don’t have to worry about your false teeth moving or shifting while you chew or speak.
Keep Remaining Teeth from Shifting | Replacing your missing teeth with a bridge, you can help keep your remaining teeth from shifting and rotating into the gap.
Prevent Premature Aging | Bridges can help prevent bone loss that affects the shape of your face and leads to premature aging.
Long Lasting | Bridges can last five to fifteen years with good oral hygiene and regular visits to your dentist.

How Does It Work?

Make an Appointment | We will provide you a full examination and diagnosis, to determine if you are a candidate for a dental bridge.
Preparation | Your teeth will need to be prepared for the bridge. Two or more of your teeth will be reshaped, so that the crowns can be placed over them. A mold will be taken of your teeth and the mold will be sent to a laboratory to create your personalized permanent crowns. Temporary crowns will be placed in the interim.
Placement | Once the bridge arrives, we will place the bridge and check for fit and bite. Multiple appointments may be needed. When we confirm proper fit, the bridge will be cemented into place.
